Build follow-up flows & button menus
Send timed follow-ups to people who didn’t reply, or a tappable button menu that guides them.
Before you start
- A connected Instagram account with AutoDM switched on.
Open Instagram → Follow-up flows
In the sidebar open Instagram → “Follow-up flows” and click “New Flow”.
Basics: pick a starting template
Choose “Welcome button menu” (a greeting with tappable buttons) or “Timed sequence” (a message now, follow-ups later). Then name the flow, pick your account, and click Next.
Steps: timed follow-ups
First choose when the flow starts: “Greet any DM” (the first time someone messages you) or “On a keyword”. Then, with “Timed steps”, the first message goes out instantly. Add more steps, each with a “Wait” time (e.g. 1 hour). Follow-ups stop as soon as the person replies, so nobody gets spammed.
Steps: button menu
Switch to “Button menu” to send a greeting with buttons. Each button either opens a link or leads to another reply, like a mini website inside DMs.
Delivery: cooldown and launch
In the last step set the cooldown (how long before the same person can start the flow again) and, if you like, “Require follow first”. Click “Launch automation”.
