Set up a Follow-Gate
Require a follow before the link is sent — turn replies into followers automatically.
3 min readA follow-gate checks if the commenter follows you. Followers get the link instantly; non-followers get a polite “follow first” message, then the link once they do.
Enable follow-gate on the automation
Open the automation and turn on “Require follow”. This adds the gate step before your link reply.
Write the “please follow” message
Set the message non-followers see. Keep it friendly and clear — e.g. “Follow us and reply again to get your link!”.
Set the unlock reply
This is the message + link sent once they follow. Make sure the link/button here is the real destination.
Instagram can take a moment to report a new follow. A short retry window avoids false “not following” results.
