Create your first Reel automation
When someone comments a keyword on your Reel, auto-reply publicly and slide into their DMs with your link.

- A connected Instagram account.
- AutoDM enabled in Explore All Apps.
Open the Automations builder
In the sidebar click Automations → Reels. Then click “New Reel Automation”.
Pick the Reel and name it
Give the automation a name you’ll recognise (e.g. “Free guide”), choose your Instagram account, and paste the link to the Reel you want it to watch.
Set the trigger keyword
Type the keywords that should trigger it — like “guide” or “link” — and press Enter for each. Choose “Contains” so it fires when the word appears anywhere in a comment.
Write the public reply + DM
Choose “Comment + DM”. Write a short public comment (e.g. “Just sent you a DM @firstname 📩”) and then the DM itself — plain text, or text with a button linking to your offer.
A “Text + Button” DM converts best — the button is a big tappable link straight to your product or bio.
(Optional) Add a follow or email gate
Want them to follow you first, or capture their email before sending? Turn on “Require Follow” or “Require Email” and DMGO handles the back-and-forth automatically.
Set Active and save
Set the status to “Active”, then click “Save Automation”. It’s now live — comment on your own Reel to test it.
