How to Set Up Auto-Reply on Instagram DMs in 5 Minutes

If you are replying to the same Instagram DMs by hand every day, you are doing work a machine should do for you. Auto-replies handle the repetitive questions instantly, so you only step in when it actually matters. Here is how to set it up in about five minutes.

Before you start

You need two things: an Instagram Professional account (Creator or Business — free to switch to) and an official-API automation tool. That is it.

Step 1 — Switch to a Professional account

In Instagram: Settings → Account type and tools → Switch to professional account. Pick Creator if you are an individual, Business if you are a brand. This unlocks the messaging API.

Step 2 — Connect your account

Step 5 — Turn it on and test

Activate the automation, then trigger it yourself from another account or ask a friend. Confirm the reply arrives correctly before you promote it. Once it works, point your content at it — "comment PRICE and I’ll send it over."
